Dear Parents and Students,

​

Thank you to all the moms who visited us this morning! The kids had a great time showing their moms around the class and giving them their cards. There is a present coming but the supplies didn't come in time so we have to make it next week. Besides, shouldn't everyday be Mother's Day?

​

I have been told by my doctor that I have to start cutting my hours. I will be working 4 hours a day. The times I will be in depend on what's going on that day. If you need to meet with me for any reason please email me so we can set up a time, I can't guarantee I'll be in class at dismissal or before school. Thank you for your understanding! 

​

Next Friday is field day! Our class shirt color is black. My idea is for everyone to wear black shirts but brightly colored pants and accessories (hats, bracelets, socks, sweatbands, shoes, sprayed hair, etc.) It should be a lot of fun!

What we Learned:​​

• Language Arts: Word Study, reading, How To, reading connectiosn with science

• Math:  ordinal numbers (1st-10th), greater than/ less than/ equal to, base 10

• Science:  Fish and Insects

• Social Studies: Careers

Uniform:

• The HOT weather is coming! Shorts are allowed when the temperature for the day is 80+ degrees 

• Please remember sleeveless shirts are not appropriate

• NO SANDALS or open-toed shoes (for safety reasons)

• Pants: plain navy or khaki dress pants (sweatpants on Monday only)

• Shirts: burgundy, light blue, or white Pinnacle Academy collared (long or short sleeve) (PE dark blue long sleeve or light blue short sleeve t-shirt on Monday only)

• Shoes: solid color (minimal second color okay) blue, black, or brown

• Students who are not dressed in proper uniform will be sent to the office and parents will have to bring the proper uniform

• Students who are not dressed in proper uniform 3X will not be allowed to dress down on Frida

Tardy:

• If a student has 3 unexcused tardies they will not be allowed to dress down on Friday

• For any questions on excused or unexcused tardies please refer to the student handbook 

 

Word Study:​​

• Monday: Word Study Notebook will be sent home along with the words to be learned. Please cut the words and practice sorting.

• Tuesday/Wednesday: Choose ONE activity from the BINGO sheet provided

• Thursday: Glue words in the correct sort into the notebook

• Friday: Return notebook for a grade. The students will be assessed on spelling.

Reading Log:​​

• If you need a new reading log, please let me know

• Please fill out each night, 15 minutes per day

• Return on Friday for a grade​

Reminders:

• Check students’ PURPLE folders that they bring home each night, return it everyday

• Bring planner everyday

• Don't forget READING LOGS on FRIDAYS!!
